Account Code Accuracy: How it Affects Data and Trends (CPIM Approved)

Participants will be able to learn how important account codes are for the trends in their five year forecasts, budgeting and modeling. The panel will review the account codes that affect district trends and state comparisons. The panel will define best practices on how to make sure that the account codes are maintained so that there is a history for each type of expenditure and revenue.

Cindy Ritter

K12 Business Consulting, Inc.; OASBO Past President and Retired Treasurer

Cynthia Ritter is a School Business Consultant with K-12 Business Consulting, Inc. and Grant Consultant to Envision Ed Plus. Cynthia has served as a consultant to Ohio Department of Education with the Academic Distress Commissions and Education Reform. She has over 32 years of successful leadership and management experience as treasurer/CFO for several school districts.

She has been a member of the Education Standards Board Ohio Department of Education, OASBO Board President, served on the Auditor of State Regional Advisory Committee, Board member and treasurer of the Pickaway County Employees Benefit Program, speaker and presenter at numerous OSBA, BASA, OASBO and ASBO seminars.

She has received many awards and recognitions including the Rich Unger Professionalism Award, Distinguished Service Award and was a Herb Brum Scholarship recipient.

Todd Griffith

CFO/Treasurer, Licking Heights Local Schools

Todd Griffith has been Treasurer of Licking Heights Local Schools since June 2017. In this position, Mr. Griffith works with the Board of Education and administration to provide prudent financial management and leadership. The Treasurer's Office is responsible for all fiscal operations of the District. This includes budgeting, forecasting, investing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting and serving as public records custodian.

Mr. Griffith received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University and completed his Treasurer’s coursework from the University of Dayton. He holds an active School Treasurer license.  Mr. Griffith is a member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials.

Adam Zink

Treasurer, Lakota Local SD (Liberty Township)

Adam Zink is currently the Treasurer/CFO at Lakota Local Schools in Butler County. Prior to his current position he served as the Assistant Treasurer at Lakota for six years. Mr. Zink also served as Treasurer/CFO at Hillsboro City Schools, and Ripley Union Lewis Huntington Local School District. He is the past-president of the Ohio Valley OASBO chapter. Adam also works as a Consultant with K-12 Business Consulting assisting treasurers with development of the five-year forecast, negotiation models, and other fiscal reporting.

Jeremy Buskirk

Senior Manager, Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors, LLC

Jeremy is a senior manager with the Ohio team of Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors. He has over 15 years of Ohio school experience, serving as treasurer/CFO and other administrative roles, as well as experience performing financial and compliance audits for government entities. During his time with both Baker Tilly and school districts, he has participated in numerous bond and note issuances.

Jeremy received his B.A. from Spring Arbor Universityin 2005 and his Masters of Business Administration from Mount Vernon NazareneUniversity in 2009.

Jeremy is also active in his community as a member ofthe board of directors for the Big Walnut Chamber of Commerce.

Gina Deppert

CFO/Treasurer, Northmor Local SD

Gina Deppert has served the public in the capacity of Treasurer/CFO for over 19 years, with 31 years of total public service.  She is a graduate of Ohio University receiving both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees with emphasis on Business Administration and Human Services.  She is currently the Treasurer/CFO at Northmor Local Schools.  Gina also is a board member at Ashland City Schools.
