The most widely recognized HVAC engineering society, ASHRAE, has published a very practical approach to ensuring a healthy building in light of COVID. Our team will explore immediate no-cost solutions that can be implemented to ensure a safe environment. Topics include Systems Evaluation, Inspection and Maintenance, Ventilation and Filtration, Building Readiness Plan, Pre- and/or Post-Occupancy Flush with Outdoor Air, Modes of Operation for the Building, and Water Systems. Our team will also explore the benefits of adding proven technologies such as Ultra -Violet Lights and Bipolar Ionization to air handling systems.
Ken Yockey
Facilities Performance Engineer, Four Seasons Environmental
Ken Yockey is the Lead Energy Engineer for Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. Four Seasons’ core business is Facilities Performance, with a niche focus on federal, state, and institutional projects. With 45 years of experience in building design, engineering and service, as well as construction and energy management, Ken brings real-world experience to a variety of projects and clients, ranging from local Ohio school buildings to the Centers for Disease Control.
Ken’s proficiency in DDC controls and building automation systems, as well as his vast building knowledge, allows him to identify operational deficiencies and the strategic means in which to increase building efficiency. Presently, Ken provides monthly facility and energy management advisory services to more than 15 school districts in Southwest Ohio.
Dan Tarkington
CEO, Four Seasons Environmental, Inc.
Dan Tarkington is the founder of and current Chairman of Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. FSE’s core business is Facilities Performance, with a niche focus on federal, state, and institutional projects. A registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia, Dan has more than 50 years of Professional Engineering experience, including time with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Proctor & Gamble. Dan parlays this knowledge into aiding Ohio school districts to create more efficient maintenance departments, reduce energy costs and financially plan for the future. Currently, Dan works closely with more than a dozen clients, including school districts, as a long-term partner in achieving operating success.
Dan is also a National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) Certified Professional and holds Ohio HVAC, Electrical, Hydronic, Plumbing, and Refrigeration Contractor licenses.
Todd Shinkle
Treasurer, Goshen Local Schools
Todd is currently the treasurer for Goshen Local SD, where he has been since 2000. Todd is a Certified Government Financial Manager and has over 10 years of experience as Auditor of State. Todd is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, where he obtained a BA in Accounting.
Darrell Edwards
Superintendent, Goshen Local Schools
Darrell Edwards has served as the Superintendent of Goshen Local Schools for 10 years. Goshen Local Schools traditionally has a graduation rate of over 98% and is recognized as providing a high quality education at an affordable price to the taxpayer.
Prior to serving Goshen as Superintendent, he has performed various roles in his 32 year career as an educator from teacher, coach, principal, assistant superintendent to superintendent. He is the proud father of three Goshen graduates and takes particular pride in them and the groundwork for success that Goshen provided them.
