The abrupt shutdown of schools and lack of a clear path forward caused by COVID-19 created many new challenges for districts. What didnt change were the annual compliance requirements already established. Suddenly, we were asked to fulfill these requirements in addition to new ones created by COVID-19 legislation. In this session, you will learn how one district was able to navigate this process with limited impact on staff, how to maintain true compliance in an inconsistent environment, and how to be prepared for the next emergency that upsets school operations.

Tom Strasburger is the Vice President, Strategic Alliances for PublicSchoolWORKS, the leading provider of web-based staff safety, training and compliance management programs for schools. He leverages his extensive knowledge of school safety and compliance with over 20 years of school industry experience to address the challenges schools face with staff and student safety. He has a keen sense for school district needs and is passionate about supporting their health and safety initiatives.

Tom has been a member of the ASBO International Risk Management Committee since 2005, provides quality learning sessions for annual conferences, and has attended Executive Leadership since 2007.

Matt Luecke

Director of School Business Affairs, Kings Local SD

Matt Lueke has been the Director of School Business Affairs at Kings LSD in Warren County since 2016. He oversees Safety, Transportation, Food Service, Maintenance, Grounds, and COVID.

Prior to Kings LSD, Matt worked for 15 years in homebuilding with the 4th largest builder in the US working in production, sales, and as costing manager for the Cincinnati division.

Both his undergraduate and graduate degrees are in education.
