    Travis Thompson, CPSI

    Vice President of Risk Management, Ohio School Plan

    Travis has an extensive loss control background and he designed the loss control protocols for the field risk managers. He and his department provide extensive risk management services to our public entity and educational institution clients. Travis has worked with hundreds of municipal and school clients. His professional specialties include: Emergency Action Planning / Accident Investigation / Safety Management System.

    Travis earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio.  In addition, he is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) and a Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM).

    Mike Ugljesa

    Program Administrator, Hylant Administrative Services

    Michael Ugljesa is President of Hylant Administrative Services and the Program Administrator of the Ohio School Plan.  Mike has extensive financial and insurance operational experience that he has amassed throughout his nearly 30 year career.   Mike’s experience spans a variety of insurance and risk-bearing entities.  As the Program Administrator of the Ohio School Plan, Mike oversees all facets of the Ohio School Plan’s operations which include underwriting, claims, risk management, and sales.

    The Ohio School Plan provide comprehensive coverage and risk management solutions to public educational institutions and boards of developmental disabilities across the State of Ohio.  In addition to offering traditional coverage, we have responded to evolving member insurance needs by developing specialized coverages including violence, fiduciary, and finding for recovery.

    Alex Clark

    Risk Advisor, Cyber, Hylant Administrative Services

    With extensive experience in the insurance industry, Alex is a Cyber Risk Advisor and serves as a resource for all things Cyber, Technology, and Media. Alex engages both clients and colleagues to assist in the placement of coverage, enhancing the understanding of cyber and emerging risk, and pre and post breach readiness through incident response planning.

    As a Cyber Risk Advisor, Alex takes a hands on approach not only placing coverage with the correct carrier, but making sure our clients know how to utilize the policy, how to prevent incidents, minimize payouts, and execute incident response plans come claim time.

This session will help school business officials understand the law’s phased deadlines, key compliance elements, and practical steps to prepare their districts. Attendees will learn how to establish a cybersecurity program, define staff training requirements, and ensure their leadership and teams are ready to meet HB96’s new reporting and governance standards.

    Jennette Irish-Glass is the Director of Technology for the Orange City School District in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Leading technology strategy for the award-winning, top-performing district since 2013, she began her tenure with Orange as a Technology Integration Specialist in 2002.

    A respected voice in educational technology, Jennette is a recipient of the NSBA “20 to Watch” award and the Ideastream Betty Cope Award. She is also a co-founder of the NEOTIE Educational Conferences and previously co-chaired the Ohio Chapter of CoSN’s Cybersecurity Committee.
